Liwen Liang is a ceramic craftsman and fashion designer based in London and Jingdezhen. He creates wearable ceramics that blend traditional Chinese craftsmanship with contemporary fashion, combining both eastern and westen culture. Liwen founded his own brand during the pandemic and named as his name LIWEN LIANG. The iconic product for this brand is porcelain fabric piece which transforming fragile ceramics into flexible textiles. This process preserves the heritage of porcelain-making while redefining the boundaries of fashion materials.
LIWEN LIANG brand is celebrates imperfection and authenticity, embracing fragility as a form of strength and truth. Each of his creations is both sculptural and wearable, inviting the wearer to embody resilience, delicacy, and individuality.
Inspired by the distinctive qualities of LIWEN’s porcelain fabric, we developed a bespoke typeface around the idea of cracks and imperfections, with the letter “L” forming the core monogram. To connect Eastern and Western cultural influences, we introduced the concept of traditional Chinese stamping into the identity, treating the monogram as a personal signature and mark of authenticity.
This visual language extends across the wider brand system, from typography and graphic compositions to packaging and layouts, creating a consistent identity that reflects the materiality, craftsmanship, and contemporary character of LIWEN LIANG.
